Our Story
A few years ago, my family was faced with a life-changing event when my grandfather underwent surgery for bladder cancer. The surgical procedure was successful, but the aftermath was marred by his painful experience with a foley catheter. The irritation, bladder spasms, and overall discomfort he experienced were, in his words, worse than the cancer or the surgery itself. This personal encounter led me to investigate further, and I discovered that his agonizing experience was far from unique; many patients suffered similar adverse effects, with some even developing CAUTI (Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections).
It became our mission to create a solution that would improve the quality of life for patients requiring catheter care. That’s when HAITEC Medical Inc. was created. Our company’s mission is not only centered on patient-focused solutions but also on developing products that truly prioritize comfort, safety, and well-being.
Our flagship product, the UroStride™ with SoftGrip™ technology, embodies our philosophy. This innovative device represents a breakthrough in catheter securement technology, offering a more humane approach that respects the dignity and needs of patients. By starting HAITEC Medical Inc., I wanted to take my grandfather’s pain and transform it into a pathway for better care, innovation, and compassion in the medical field. Founder & CEO
15+ years in the field of medical device design and development. Expertise in early stage corporate establishment, intellectual property development, stateside and overseas manufacturing, regulatory submittal and clinical testing. Extensive knowledge in the field of injection molded part design and design for manufacturability. Managed projects across a variety of disciplines including orthopedics, cardiovascular, ophthalmics, urologics / gastroenterologics, POC diagnostics, and fitness / physical therapy.
Juraj Letko, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Juraj Letko, MD, is a gynecologist with advanced training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. He is one of a few urogynecologists in the United States who received training in both obstetrics and gynecology and urology. He provides treatment to women with a wide range of pelvic conditions, including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, urinary infections, and painful and irritative voiding disorders. Dr. Letko has published scientific articles in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at national and international conferences. He has been recognized as one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly and Chicago Magazine.
